In 2007 Nicholas Coles bequeathed the home to the Baldwin County Historic Development Commission (BCHDC) who now manages the operation of the home. Swift-Coles Historic Home dates back to 1882 and is one of Baldwin County's premiere cultural heritage attractions and special events venues. BCHDC has a vision for the future of the home in which Baldwin County history will be preserved and enjoyed. BCHDC hopes for the people of Baldwin County, Alabama and the surrounding areas to be able to enjoy this beautiful venue.
The Baldwin County Historic Development Commission has partnered with Kathryn Leiterman Graham who is Swift-Coles Historic Home manager. Mrs. Graham has significant experience in business management and development. She is the founder and owner of Events by Kathryn as well as well as Coastal Cruisers Classic and Antique Limousine Services. She is a Baldwin County native and completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Huntingdon College in 2020. As manager of Swift-Coles Historic home, she will oversee public tours, and the enhancement of the home and its scenic grounds as a destination wedding facility.
Friends of Swift-Coles, are the men and women who enjoy history, antiques, storytelling, and most of all love Swift-Coles Historic Home. The docents volunteer their time, energy and efforts into providing a more meaningful experience for those who visit the home for historical tours. We are always looking for more volunteers.
